Class Description
Explore the world's rich tapestry of performance, art, and mythology in this dynamic course! Each week, we'll embark on a journey to a different country, delving into its unique cultural heritage and artistic traditions. Whether it's ancient masterpieces or contemporary dances, you'll discover the fascinating stories and vibrant creativity that define each destination. Each week, students will create a different craft or project based on what they learn. Get ready to broaden your horizons and find inspiration from cultures around the globe!
What to Expect: One week, students might "visit" China to learn about the myth of the Four Dragons and create a paper mâché dragon egg while listening to traditional Chinese music. The next week, they might "travel" to Greece and learn how to sculpt their own own statue.
This course is created and led by Liz Livingston, who holds a BA in Performance Studies and an MFA in Acting from ART at Harvard. Inspired her travels everywhere from Russia to West Texas, Liz brings the elements of wonder and respect to study each country and its peoples.
