Class Description
Yoga Explorers: Mindful Movement for elementary school children is a playful and engaging yoga class designed for children aged K - 2nd. Through age-appropriate poses, breathing exercises, and interactive games, children will develop body awareness, creativity, and social skills. Join us for a fun-filled journey of yoga adventures, relaxation, and self-expression.
Introduce Breath Awareness:
Teach kids to focus on their breath.
Encourage deep, slow breaths.
Explain how breath can help calm the mind and body.
Create a Relaxing Environment:
Set a positive and calming atmosphere.
Use soft lighting or play calming music.
Teach Basic Poses:
Start with foundational poses like Mountain Pose, Tree Pose, Downward Dog, and Child’s Pose. Use animal-themed poses to keep it playful, like Cobra, Butterfly, or Cat-Cow.
Focus on Alignment:
Emphasize proper alignment to prevent injuries. Use simple cues and demonstrations to guide them.
Incorporate Games and Activities:
Introduce yoga games that involve movement and coordination.
